Passport Drive Initiative
The University of Memphis has been selected by the Institute of International Education (IIE) to receive an IIE American Passport Project grant that will enable up to 25 University of Memphis students to obtain their first U.S. passport and open the pathway to study abroad. In its fifth year, IIE has awarded 45 institutions in the IIENetwork membership to help 1,275 Pell-eligible college students through this opportunity.
The Passport Drive is an initiative of the UofM Education Abroad Office to match the
award of IIE with the goal of helping UofM students take the first step towards studying
abroad.
The first 50 enrolled full time students may be eligible to obtain a scholarship to
provide reimbursement for the costs of obtaining a new passport totaling $165.
