Our Work
Faculty and students in the Anthropology Department are engaged in individually-run and collaborative research projects geared toward understanding and potentially solving the complex social problems besetting the region, nation, and world. Our work spans many areas, including:
- Anthropology of Work and Organizations
- Anthropology & Development
- Environmental Anthropology
- Feminist Anthropology
- Food Anthropology
- Human Rights
- Medical Anthropology
- Migration, Refugees, & Humanitarianism
- Religion, Identity Politics & Critical Race Studies
- Urban Anthropology
While each of these interest areas includes a list of the most relevant faculty in terms of their current research and teaching work, many of our classes, projects, and research agendas cut across multiple interest areas. For example, the Critical AI Studies Research Cluster is an interdisciplinary group led by Dr. Robertson and Dr. Maclin that includes work on human rights, organizations, and environmental justice.
