How to Use Navigate

Directions to make in-person appointments via Navigate:

  1. Once you have logged into Navigate, you should see your Student profile.
  2. Above your profile picture (or the placeholder box for it), on the right side of the page, you will see a blue rectangular button that says “Schedule Appointment.” Click that button.
  3. The page will then display a list of options, the first of which asks, “What type of appointment would you like to schedule?” Click the drop-down menu arrow and select “Tutoring and Academic support.”
  4. Next, under the “Service” drop-down menu, choose the option beneath “Writing and Communication Services” that best applies to your needs: English Language Assistance, Help with a Speech/Presentation Prep, Help with a Writing Assignment, or Reading Strategies Assistance.
  5. Choose the best date for your appointment under “Pick a Date,” and then click “Find Available Time.”
  6. When the calendar page loads, you will see when you scroll down that there are ways to filter the results by: Staff, Where you would like to meet, and Location. These options will help you determine who is available to work online, in person in the Library studio, or in person in Patterson Hall. You do not have to filter the calendar results, but if you would like to do so, choose your preferred staff member (if any), and location, and the page will automatically refine the results as you do so.
  7. Click the blue time slot that works for you and the appointment confirmation page will load. After checking that the details for your appointment are correct and adding comments about what assignment you are interested in working on with your consultant, be sure to click “Schedule” to complete your appointment reservation. If you opted to have reminder texts and/or emails sent, you will receive those communications before your appointment.
  8. Before your appointment, be sure to check your reminder messages to confirm in which location your consultation will take place: the Library or Patterson Hall.
  9. If you have any questions about your appointment’s location or need to cancel or change your appointment, please contact us at: casa-writecomm@memphis.edu.
