Undergraduate Advising
The Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice provides advising for undergraduate students who are looking for information on courses to take, progress towards graduation, internship opportunities, and other department-related matters. Students may sign up for an advising appointment via Campus to meet with the advisors in-person, or be advised via email. Walk-ins may be taken, contingent on advisor availability.
Meet the Advisors
Andrew Senter is an associate professor of teaching/advising coordinator with the department. He received his M.A. in Political Science from the University of Memphis, holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law. He currently teaches Introduction to Courts with the University of Memphis, and previously taught International Law and International Relations with the University of Memphis as well as American Government and Criminal Justice classes at Arkansas State University-Midsouth. Prior to teaching, Andrew worked as a legal analyst in wills and trusts, estates, and conflicts of law at Senter and Senter Attorneys in Humboldt, Tennessee. Sheri Chapel is an assistant professor of teaching/advising coordinator with the department. She is a graduate of the police academy and certified peace officer, and also holds a J.D. She currently teaches Constitutional and Criminal Procedure, Death Penalty, and other legal courses. She advises all department students with last names A-L and can be reached at schapel@memphis.edu.
George Megelsh is an associate professor of teaching with the department at the Lambuth Campus. He received his Masters degree from Rider University and is a former law enforcement officer. He may be reached at gmmgelsh@memphis.edu and advises all Lambuth students.
