About Jill Dapremont
Dr. Jill Augustus Dapremont is a Professor and the Department Chair for Family, Community, and Health System Science (FCHSS). Dr. Dapremont obtained her EdD in Education from Argosy University and is a certified nurse educator (CNE). She has 31 years in higher education and 21 years in psych mental health clinical practice. Dr. Dapremont received a Master of Science in Nursing degree in Nursing Education/Psychiatric Mental Health /Geriatrics from Louisiana State University Health Science Center (LSUHSC), New Orleans, Louisiana, and a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Dillard University in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Dapremont is the Department Chair for Family, Community, and Health System Science (FCHSS). The FCHSS comprises various specialty areas aligned to foster a dynamic and collaborative environment that promotes teaching, research, and service excellence. Under the leadership of Dr. Jill Dapremont, faculty members within this department share common teaching, clinical, and research interests.
Dr. Dapremont has served in multiple leadership positions in higher education, including Past President of the University of Memphis Faculty Senate (2021-2022), past President of Sigma, Beta Theta At-Large, the International Nursing Honor Society, Board of Directors for TNA, and Treasurer for the Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA). She has extensive service to the Loewenberg College of Nursing and the University of Memphis. In 2024, she was selected by American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) to participate in the 2025 Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing (ELAN) Fellowship Cohort VII. This is a one year program with an expected graduation date of May 2026.
