Dr. Debra Lynch Kelly Appointed Interim Dean of the Loewenberg College of Nursing

July 3, 2025 — The University of Memphis Provost's Office announces Dr. Debra Lynch Kelly's appointment
as Interim Dean at the Loewenberg College of Nursing for the next fiscal year.
Dr. Kelly brings exceptional academic leadership and a strong track record of excellence in nursing education and research. She was appointed as LCON’s Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in July 2024, following her tenure as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs – Undergraduate Education at the University of Florida College of Nursing, home to Florida’s top-ranked nursing program. With deep expertise in curriculum development, accreditation, and innovative instruction across undergraduate and doctoral programs, Dr. Lynch Kelly is well-positioned to lead the college during this transitional period.
LCON expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Linda Haddad for her leadership and service as Dean during her appointment. Under her guidance, the college made significant strides in academic innovation, community engagement, and student success.
To mark this leadership transition, LCON hosted a one-hour meeting on July 9 at 2 p.m., during which Provost Dr. David J. Russomanno and Dr. Lynch Kelly addressed LCON faculty and staff. The session provided updates, affirmed continued support for LCON’s mission, and offered an opportunity for open dialogue and questions.
