Department Research

Research in the Department of Philosophy focuses primarily on three areas: Mind (including phenomenology, philosophy of mind, cognitive sciences, social cognition and collective intentionality, philosophy of psychology/psychiatry), European/Continental philosophy (from Kant through contemporary thought), and social and political philosophy (including critical theory, philosophy of race, African-American and Afro-Caribbean philosophy, and feminist philosophy).

The department also has ongoing research interests in Ethics and History of Philosophy.
