The Pride and Equity Alliance at the University of Memphis is comprised of faculty and staff (members and non-members of the LGBTQ+ community, this group is open to all) who are working together for the following:

To raise awareness of the LGBTQ+ community’s needs
To identify and address exclusionary practices
To combat macro and micro aggressions
To review processes to ensure fairness
To educate the University of Memphis community

The Pride and Equity Alliance is involved in many areas on campus and throughout the city. Members of the alliance represent the University of Memphis at campus events such as conferences, fairs, and gatherings as well as participate in city events or city organizations such as Pride Fest and Out Memphis.

The Pride and Equity Alliance strives to create a better University of Memphis and a better Memphis for everyone of all gender designations and sexual orientations through partnerships, education, and respect.
