University of Memphis School of Public Health Attends Raleigh Joint-Agency Partnership Meeting
May 14, 2025 - School of Public Health (SPH) Community Outreach Representative Steve Shular attended the Raleigh Joint-Agency Partnership meeting at the Raleigh-Frayser Senior Citizens Center. The monthly meeting, sponsored by the City of Memphis and led by City of Memphis Councilmember Rhonda Logan, provides a community forum for organizations and the SPH in the northeast area of Memphis. Mr. Shular discussed the success of the recent UofM SPH public health club hackathon, the increase in student enrollment and curriculum opportunities for prospective SPH students.
Councilmember Logan recently honored the University of Memphis, specifically Dr. Ashish Joshi, Dean and Distinguished Professor of the SPH, for creating public health clubs for Shelby County area high schools. The University of Memphis Model format for the local public health clubs have led to the establishment of high school public health clubs in other parts of the world.
