Dr. Julietha Gosbert Tibyesiga Joins SPH International Public Health Diplomacy Advisory Group

July 16, 2025 - Julietha Gosbert Tibyesiga, MD has joined the University of Memphis SPH International Public Health Diplomacy Advisory Group, which brings together global health leaders, diplomats and policy experts dedicated to advancing the intersection of public health and international relations.

Dr. Tibyesiga is currently serving as a Youth Advisor within the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA – HC) and a Program Officer for the National School Health and Nutrition Programme at the Ministry of Health, Tanzania. Dr. Tibyesiga holds a Bachelor’s in Doctor of Medicine from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) and is an inspiring global public health diplomat.

Her primary areas of interest include Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) and Youth Health Diplomacy. She is driven by the challenges faced by youth and adolescent in rural Tanzania, reflecting a critical need for interventions. With over five years of experience in health promotion, she has contributed to number of advocacy activities including spearheading a Sexual and Reproductive Health project targeting Dar es Salaam and Dodoma secondary school students, impacting over 100,000 students.

Dr. Tibyesiga is committed to developing and implementing evidence-based policies and programs that prioritize adolescent girls and young women's health locally and globally. Her aim is to foster collaborations that promote public health knowledge exchange, leadership in the health sector and capacity building, ultimately striving for a more equitable and inclusive healthcare landscape.
