UofM SPH Dean Joins Memphis-Shelby County Optimist Club Meeting as Guest Speaker

September 17, 2025 - Dr. Ashish Joshi, Dean at the University of Memphis (UofM) School of Public Health (SPH), joined the Memphis-Shelby County Optimist Club breakfast meeting to present his vision for the SPH — to become one of the most impactful schools of public health in the nation.

The Optimist Club is a service organization that promotes the well-being of youth.

The group was informed about SPH’s most recent achievement — being named one of the Top 100 Schools of Public Health in the nation, by U.S. News and World Report 2025-26. Optimist Club members also learned about the increase in student enrollment and funding for research and scholarships.
