The UofM SPH Dean Joshi Speaks about Public Health Diplomacy at European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) 2025 Conference
October 2, 2025 - SPH Dean Ashish Joshi, PhD, MBBS, MPH spoke at the European Health Forum Gastein on Public Health Diplomacy. Dean Joshi was joined by Natasha Azzopardi Muscat, Ayman El-Mohandes, Claudia Habl, Ramunė Kalėdienė and Charlotte Marchandise. The session was organized by the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and The Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region - ASPHER and moderated by Joseph Figueras and Martin McKee.
"It was a unique opportunity to introduce the field of “Public Health Diplomacy in an Era of Complexity, Uncertainty and Unpredictability” at the European Health Forum Gastein Fishbowl gathering," Dean Joshi said. "The discussions were enriching and insightful, bringing experts from all over the world with diverse backgrounds and perspectives and highlighting why the field of Public Health Diplomacy is critical towards consensus building, negotiations, and conflict resolution both at local and global levels (GLOCALIZATION)."
These speakers and participants held meaningful and bold solutions to prepare committed Public Health Diplomats, facilitating data-driven dialogue, evidence-informed communications and implementing health training programs in the complex environments.
