November 11, 2025 - University of Memphis School of Public Health (UofM SPH) Community Outreach Representative, Steve Shular, met with Executive Director Carol Jackson of Families Matter to discuss potential areas of collaboration.
Families Matter, a Memphis non-profit agency, centers its work around the AFIRM program, which stands for “A Father’s Involvement Really Matters.” The organization works with various community partners to teach teenagers and young men healthy principles of fatherhood and family lifestyles.
Discussions are currently underway to explore ways in which the UofM SPH can support the organization in its outreach mission and provide SPH students an avenue for experiential learning and volunteer projects.
