UofM SPH Launches New Partnership with Millington City Government

November 20, 2025 - The University of Memphis School of Public Health (UofM SPH) has formed a new partnership with the Millington City Government aimed at expanding public health resources for local residents.

As part of the collaboration, Lauren Freeman, a UofM SPH graduate student pursuing her Master of Public Health degree, will develop a comprehensive social services directory designed to help Millington residents more easily identify and access community resources.

Ms. Freeman will complete the project under the supervision of Millington City Manager Frankie Dakin.

Upon the project’s completion, the directory will be made publicly available on the City of Millington’s official website.

On November 20, 2025, Ms. Freeman met with city officials to discuss the project alongside Jamecia Richardson, Coordinator of Experiential Learning and Career Services for the SPH, and Steve Shular, the SPH Community Outreach Representative. The group joined City Manager Dakin and other Millington leaders to outline project goals, timelines and next steps for the new initiative.
