Development Grants for Commercialization

The Office of Technology Transfer now taking applications for 2025-26 development grants

The FedEx Institute of Technology is committed to supporting the commercialization of groundbreaking inventions developed by University of Memphis faculty and researchers. Through the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT), we are offering development grants with awards of $10,000–$20,000 to advance the most commercially promising technologies toward market readiness.

How to Apply

To be considered, applicants must complete:

• Invention Disclosure Form: fedex.institute/inv_disc
• Development Grant Application: fedex.institute/OTT_DevGrants
• Both forms must be submitted for your application to be eligible. 

Application Deadline

Deadline to Apply: Tuesday, September 30, 2025 

Awards Announced: October 2025  

Your application will include details on:

• Technology description and development status
• Milestones toward commercialization
• Proposed work and budget for grant funding
• Economic value and market opportunities
• Potential industry partners or licensees
