What is the scholarship amount?

Selected undergraduate students will receive a $1,000 Rising Leaders Scholarship for the academic year, distributed in two equal installments across the fall and spring semesters.

NOTE: The Rising Leaders scholarship cannot be combined with the Emerging Leaders, First Scholars, or Weil Scholars programs.

How many spaces are available, and am I eligible?

Up to 100 students will be selected each year to receive the Rising Leaders Scholarship. To be eligible, students must:

• • Be currently enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at the University of Memphis main campus

  • Have held or currently hold a leadership role in at least one registered student organization during the previous academic year

  • Not be graduating in a Fall or Summer term.

What distinguishes a Rising Leaders recipient?

This award recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional involvement and proven leadership within student organizations and on-campus initiatives. It is designed to honor the impact you're already making in the UofM community.

Can I receive this award more than once?

No. The Rising Leaders Scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award. Students who have previously received the scholarship are not eligible to reapply, to provide more student leaders with the opportunity to be recognized and supported.
