SUAPP Leadership
Dr. Katherine Lambert-Pennington
Dr. Lambert-Pennington has a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology and a graduate certificate in African and African American Studies from Duke University. She serves as the Director of School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy (SUAPP) and an associate professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Memphis. Her research focuses on community development, food justice, social inequalities, participatory action research, and community-university partnerships, as well as engaged scholarship. Full Bio
Dr. Charlie Santo
Dr. Santo has a Ph.D in Urban Studies from Portland State University. He serves as the associate director of the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy (SUAPP). His research and teaching focus on urban economic analysis, public finance, and planning research methods. He is a co-author of Sport and Public Policy: Social, Political and Economic Perspectives. He is currently involved in the Memphis 3.0 plan with the City of Memphis and other community projects.
Dr. Andy Guthrie
Dr. Guthrie holds a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota and a
master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota. He
serves as the interim director of the Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and an associate professor
in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of Memphis.
