Canvas at the UofM

Canvas is our web-based learning management system, or LMS.  All of UofM’s current learning technologies integrate with Canvas, including Banner Student Information System, Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, Qualtrics, Turnitin, and Zoom. Canvas provides enhanced reporting of metrics at the student, course, program, degree, and institutional level. Canvas Studio allows faculty and students to quickly record and caption video.

How do I log in to Canvas?

To access canvas navigate to the UofM Canvas site (https://memphis.instructure.com/) and login with your UUID and Password.

IgniteAI Announcement:

UM3D is excited to announce that you're going to be among the first to try out Canvas’ new IgniteAI Agent, the native chat bot within Canvas. 

The Agent will be available to all Teachers starting on November 3rd. All you have to do is click the new "Ignite Agent" button from any Course homepage. Only instructors will see and have access to the Agent. 

 

(Recording Coming Soon): Canvas is hosting a live on-boarding and training session at 3:00 PM CST on November 3rd for you and will hold weekly “office hours” with their product team. 

We hope that the Agent experience saves you time on repetitive and time-consuming tasks and helps surface course insights. The Agent will give you a few example tasks if you ask it, "What can you do?" 

 

This is a temporary institution-wide feature preview allowing Canvas and UM3D to collect feedback on the Agent and other Canvas integrated AI tools in general. Please be sure to leave us feedback with the 👍 or 👎 buttons as you try it out.

  • Weekly Office Hours: Meet with a Canvas rep to ask any questions about the Agent.
