UofM SPH Attends the Monthly Raleigh Joint Agency Partnership Meeting

October 8, 2025 - University of Memphis (UofM) School of Public Health (SPH) Community Outreach Representative, Steve Shular, attended the monthly Raleigh Joint Agency Partnership meeting sponsored by the Memphis City Council and Memphis Mayor’s Office.

The meeting took place at the Raleigh Community Center and focused on crime and blight concerns voiced by residents and business owners in north-east Memphis. Mr. Shular updated the group about the progress of UofM SPH’s plan to establish two new public health clubs this fall at Craigmont and Raleigh-Egypt High Schools.

Memphis City Councilwoman Rhonda Logan, who met recently with Dean Joshi, requested the clubs be started at the two high schools.

The UofM sponsored public health clubs help young people maintain good health, steer clear of criminal activity and focus on their career goals.
